Stuck in Atlanta

Well I am supposed to be in Savannah tonight and climbed on a plane late this afternoon and got as far as Atlanta. The Savannah flight was cancelled due to . . . hmm, I heard equipment failure, needed the plane for San Jose, and a couple of other excuses. Regardless, I have no luggage, did get an overnight kit with a SkyTeam t-shirt (yeah! another t-shirt) and a hotel voucher and food vouchers for Guido's and La Cockaroacha. I passed on those two and ate a chicken sandwich in the hotel restaurant.
I will get to Savannah tomorrow, meet with some folks and then do a DiscipleNow for one of my old ministry buddies. It will be a good weekend.

Watching the Duke/NC State game and it just finished regulation tied. Anyone who is playing Duke is my favorite team. Waiting on Carolina to play tomorrow. Love the Tar Heels.

These Are Unprecedented Times

It seems as though all the normal has been turned upside down. COVID-19 is something we did not even know about a couple of months ago. Our normal is no longer and probably comes at a great time in our lives. I have become complacent. I will share more later about some things I have been thinking and praying about but with this being St. Patrick's Day, I wanted to re-share a story I have shared many years before. Missions, Friends, Rain & Beach

So recently there has been a lot of talk about me building some margin into my life and I would like to tell you that I have made great strides in that area but that might be a stretch. Except, this week, Sondra and I have been on vacation. After spending a little time with my friends at World Changers and their worship leaders this summer, Sondra and I climbed in the car and headed east. Our first stop was in Maryville, TN to see our friends the Kooch's. Wonderful friends who used to live in Nashville and moved to the Knoxville area and we have kept in touch with them over the years. On Sunday, we headed to Florence, SC and stayed a couple of days with Tom and Georgina Carringer. Other friends of ours who used to live in Nashville but Tom is a big shot at ACS now and they are based in Florence. We enjoyed seeing them and Jacob and Denise and their three, Malachi, Zeke and Fiona. All three of the kids were great to be around and so were their parents. It was great to catch up ...
