The transforming power of the Gospel, or LifeSpan?

Sounds like a supernatural work, not a work of curricula. Someone in marketing should be flogged. But I'm probably just nit picky and cynical. :)

I think you are both cynical and nit picky and thanks for raising the issue. The edits took out the clarity of the gospel being transforming, not the curricula. Now go back to regularly scheduled programming at your table at the Hermitage Panera. ;-)

Hermitage Starbucks today, smarty pants. Free WiFi and no glares from the lunch crowd. BTW, I'm glad you get me without getting offended. :)

I have no doubt about the gospel focus of Lifeway and LifeSpan, I just think it's an unnecessarily ballsy tagline at the end. My unsolicited advice to marketing:

Change "transforming people from birth to heaven" to
"Discipleship for people from birth to heaven" or
"Life mentoring for people from birth to heaven" or, my favorite,
"Life-long discipleship from birth to heaven"

Love you and LifeWay (in that order.)

Missions, Friends, Rain & Beach

So recently there has been a lot of talk about me building some margin into my life and I would like to tell you that I have made great strides in that area but that might be a stretch. Except, this week, Sondra and I have been on vacation. After spending a little time with my friends at World Changers and their worship leaders this summer, Sondra and I climbed in the car and headed east. Our first stop was in Maryville, TN to see our friends the Kooch's. Wonderful friends who used to live in Nashville and moved to the Knoxville area and we have kept in touch with them over the years. On Sunday, we headed to Florence, SC and stayed a couple of days with Tom and Georgina Carringer. Other friends of ours who used to live in Nashville but Tom is a big shot at ACS now and they are based in Florence. We enjoyed seeing them and Jacob and Denise and their three, Malachi, Zeke and Fiona. All three of the kids were great to be around and so were their parents. It was great to catch up ...

These Are Unprecedented Times

It seems as though all the normal has been turned upside down. COVID-19 is something we did not even know about a couple of months ago. Our normal is no longer and probably comes at a great time in our lives. I have become complacent. I will share more later about some things I have been thinking and praying about but with this being St. Patrick's Day, I wanted to re-share a story I have shared many years before.
