Back in Country

I got home from India on Weds and headed to New Orleans on Thurs. am for a work assignment. Needless to say, I was not really looking forward to climbing back on a plane, but the conference went really well and I got a little sleep.

In fact, I get to sleep about 10p each evening and sleep great . . . until about 3a and then am wide awake. I know I will get through this but I would really like to sleep all night.

I missed all the ball games and found out about the NFL stuff when I got back and looked online on Thurs. I am pulling for the Pats and the Saints. In fact, New Orleans was crazy with Who Dat? stuff everywhere. New Orleans needs something to celebrate and I am glad they are in the Conference Championship and hope they win in Chicago tomorrow.

It was good to see our daughters play ball last night. I missed a couple of games while in India. They got a big win last night at home by 2 with 3 secs. to go. The team played fair but got the win which is always good.

I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend and catching up on 24. It is all TiVo'd so it should be fun watching it with the girls.

These Are Unprecedented Times

It seems as though all the normal has been turned upside down. COVID-19 is something we did not even know about a couple of months ago. Our normal is no longer and probably comes at a great time in our lives. I have become complacent. I will share more later about some things I have been thinking and praying about but with this being St. Patrick's Day, I wanted to re-share a story I have shared many years before. Missions, Friends, Rain & Beach

So recently there has been a lot of talk about me building some margin into my life and I would like to tell you that I have made great strides in that area but that might be a stretch. Except, this week, Sondra and I have been on vacation. After spending a little time with my friends at World Changers and their worship leaders this summer, Sondra and I climbed in the car and headed east. Our first stop was in Maryville, TN to see our friends the Kooch's. Wonderful friends who used to live in Nashville and moved to the Knoxville area and we have kept in touch with them over the years. On Sunday, we headed to Florence, SC and stayed a couple of days with Tom and Georgina Carringer. Other friends of ours who used to live in Nashville but Tom is a big shot at ACS now and they are based in Florence.
