Second in District

Station Camp got the best of us tonight in the district finals. They played really well and we had a less than stellar second quarter. I am really proud of our girls and special congrats to Jamie Loftis and Caralisa Connell for making all-district regular season and all-district tournament.
The weather has turned off pretty nice with temps in the high 50s, low 60s and looks like a little rain tonight. It was so nice to run in shorts today. My skinny, bird legs got to breathe.

I get a couple of fillings redone in the morning. Oh joy! My dentist is a great guy though and minimizes the pain well. I just hate having dead lips and talking funny.

Missions, Friends, Rain & Beach

So recently there has been a lot of talk about me building some margin into my life and I would like to tell you that I have made great strides in that area but that might be a stretch. Except, this week, Sondra and I have been on vacation. After spending a little time with my friends at World Changers and their worship leaders this summer, Sondra and I climbed in the car and headed east. Our first stop was in Maryville, TN to see our friends the Kooch's. Wonderful friends who used to live in Nashville and moved to the Knoxville area and we have kept in touch with them over the years. On Sunday, we headed to Florence, SC and stayed a couple of days with Tom and Georgina Carringer. Other friends of ours who used to live in Nashville but Tom is a big shot at ACS now and they are based in Florence. We enjoyed seeing them and Jacob and Denise and their three, Malachi, Zeke and Fiona. All three of the kids were great to be around and so were their parents. It was great to catch up ...

You're Doing What?!?

Sondra and I are excited to let you know that I have accepted a job with WinShape Foundation in the WinShape College Program . In this season of Coronavirus it does not seem to make much sense to change jobs and make a move but we have learned that as God reveals Himself it is ALWAYS best to be open handed and obey. We will be moving to Rome, GA at some point when the current restrictions are lifted. There are many things to be worked out but I will start with WinShape on May 11. We will give you details as we know them. In the meantime, you can catch this video that I did with our pastor, Michael DiMarco and it will provide a few more details. My three years at Friendship Community Church have been a great season of growth, refinement, learning and pruning in my own life. I am grateful for the people, the experiences and the growth that I have been a part of among this family of believers.
